Five projects with a mixed media artist I have been working with since 2021. The pieces here run 2023 to 2026. An outlet to write music I would not normally be making: chiptune for interactive NES glitch art, and retro synthesis orchestration for glitch art that emulates a Windows desktop from a particular era. Every one of them sounds different on purpose.
The work
Chiptune first, then the retro work. Newest first inside each. Every one is the real deliverable, not a showreel cut.
Inaccessible Worlds
Dynamic chiptune for the playable NES glitch art piece at inaccessibleworlds.xyz. The score is driven from FMOD rather than bounced, so it moves with the run instead of looping under it. Chiptune drum and bass, and the first time I wrote for that effect.
Forgotten Worlds
The same score running inside FMOD. This is the implementation itself, not a bounce of it, so you can hear the transitions doing their job.
Forgotten Worlds
The full score. Retro voices written as real arrangements rather than a nostalgia filter over a modern track.
Lost Levels
NES era chiptune, written in E minor at 140 BPM and mastered properly.
I Am Not Good At Computer
A HyperCard piece you click through, at iamnotgoodatcomputer.com. The brief was early desktop computing, so the sound is built from the machines themselves rather than from a synth pretending to be one. The synthesis and composition take after Logos by Tangerine Dream, and the working method came from Bill Atkinson in 1981: a process of uninhibited trajectory, embracing each decision without judgment.
Do You Want To Feel Something
Slower and heavier than the chiptune work. Written in F minor at 85 BPM. The theme for the interactive piece at doyouwanttofeelsomething.com, where it plays alongside tracks by Fornax Void.
Play them
Four of these are interactive and run in the browser. Press play and the real thing loads right here, sound and all, or open it in its own tab. Nothing loads until you ask for it. Two of them carry a player for the music: Inaccessible Worlds has a little NES controller marked Dusko in the top right on desktop, and Do You Want To Feel Something has a stereo. Press either one and the track runs while you look around.

Inaccessible Worlds
Dynamic chiptune driven from FMOD, so the score moves with the run.

Do You Want To Feel Something
An interactive piece you click through. I wrote the theme, and the stereo inside lets you switch between it and Fornax Void. Retro electronic, F minor, 85 BPM.
Dusko is such a consummate professional. Absolutely would recommend him in all circumstances for scoring things.
