About
DUSKOsound builds the entire audio identity of a project: sound design, original music, foley, and final mix for films, video games, and animation. One author, one coherent sound.
Sounds and presets I have designed for release. Years inside Serum, from tutorials, to a free course, to co-presenting a Serum course for Warp Academy, feed everything here.
I am one of the two sound designers behind Warp Academy’s Darkside Funk, the Serum pack one review called “the Serum preset pack to rule them all.” Two years of development and around ten hours per preset went into it, with hyper-responsive macro and mod-wheel modulation built for modern bass music. It also ships with an extensive sample pack, including a standout collection of drums.
Sound design on Swish Swoosh’s Sci-Fi UI pack: 760+ analog-and-digital interface sounds, from clicks, alerts and notifications to holograms, data processing, glitch and energy, delivered in 16-bit and 24-bit / 192kHz.
Sci-fi and horror interfaces are never cheerful, and that is deliberate. Sound is central to how science fiction feels, William Whittington’s Sound Design and Science Fiction makes the case that the genre lives or dies on it, so even a confirmation click here keeps a cold, ominous edge. Nothing is cartoony or reassuring; the interface always hints the system could turn on you. That is the tone the pack is built around.
A lot of these came out of one long night in my living room: EMF mics, a strobing light used as percussion, and two small speakers fed into a microphone until it howled with feedback. I kept going for hours, past midnight, until my wife got out of bed to make me stop. “Recorded first, not pulled first” is not a tagline for me, it is why this pack sounds like nothing off a shelf.
